About Lerner Medical |
Lerner Medical Devices, Inc. is focused on the use of
light to treat skin disease. Our mission is to develop,
manufacture and market devices that utilize advanced
HIFOL (High Intensity Fiber Optic Light) optical technology to provide novel phototherapeutic
approaches to skin conditions and disease. Our initial
product for office based phototherapy has been cleared by the FDA and
has been licensed to the Daavlin Company (www.daavlin.com)
which has introduced it to market as the Lumera™
Targeted Phototherapy System. Our second market is the
patient for whom our personal Levia™ system will offer the
convenience of self-administered phototherapy. The Company intends to
leverage its technology and expertise in developing other
products using light for medical applications.

Our Mission
It is our mission to develop the Levia LiteBrush™
technology for home use to facilitate treatment of scalp psoriasis.
As the company grows it will seek other underserved
areas of skin disease with innovative approaches.
Company History and Profile
Lerner Medical Devices, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Dr.
Ethan Lerner and Dr. Michael Lerner to pursue novel
approaches to the treatment of skin diseases.
The Company has operated from
its current location in West Los Angeles since the
beginning of 2003 and instituted an optical research and
development laboratory for testing the various design
elements of its devices.
The Company has developed and patented a novel medical
device to treat psoriasis of the scalp and other skin
conditions. The Company’s initial product utilizes our HIFOL technology
(High Intensity Fiber Optic Light) and the patented
LiteBrush™. It has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA
for the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic
dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff),
and leucoderma (stretch marks). The device consists of
an ultraviolet light source linked to fiberoptic
“bristles” configured in a hairbrush arrangement to
deliver phototherapy to the scalp. It has been tested
successfully in a clinical trial for scalp psoriasis at
the Massachusetts General Hospital. To the Company’s
knowledge, there is no other effective phototherapeutic
treatment that delivers light directly to the scalp to
treat psoriasis. The Company has licensed this initial
product to the Daavlin Company (www.daavlin.com),
a worldwide leader in phototherapy. Daavlin has
introduced the product to market as the Lumera™ for the dermatologist and phototherapy
clinics.
A commitment to

till the final launch, the needs and benefits of the
patient are our driving force.
